Hijos de la Promesa is a faith based non-profit organization founded in Costa Rica by a young lady named Aiza Caracas. In 2013, at age 12, Aiza visited an orphanage in Costa Rica that would make an eternal impact on her heart. During her visit, she met a precious one year old baby girl named Sophia.
Sophia did not want to leave Aiza’s arms; when she put her down, Sophia continuously crawled to her and clung to her leg. This encounter with such an innocent and precious soul left Aiza with a brokenness in her heart and a burden to make a difference in the lives of hurting children.

In 2021, with a heart full of passion and strong desire to help children in a state of vulnerability, Aiza decided to open up Hijos de la Promesa with the mission of bringing in and giving aid to adolescent mothers and their children who are facing social and economic risk factors. She believes that the heart of a woman is her children, and that the restoration of the child will come as a byproduct of the mother’s restored and transformed life.
Her goal with Hijos de la Promesa is to rescue children through reaching their mothers. Her heart is to see women and children who have been broken, hurt and abandoned come into Hijos de la Promesa and receive healing, restoration, transformation, and a new identity given to them by the Lord as “Children of Promise”.
